What are Balkan Dialogues?

Balkan Dialogues are Foundation BFPE led project which seeks to increase and deepen understanding and build trust between representatives of varying geopolitical interests present in the Western Balkans region today, aby providing a platform for discussion of those areas where competing interests or strategies could collide, and determining ways to mitigate and defuse tensions arising from this reality.

Mission and goals

Since 2019, as the leading organization, Foundation BFPE for a Responsible Society has implemented activities within the Balkan Dialogues initiative. The goal of the Balkan Dialogues initiative has been to define a clear list of priorities for completing, in the first place regional (economic) integration, to achieve synergy between different essential projects (i.e., business and social inclusion; green agenda and sustainable development; energy transition and human security; culture and IT) and to contribute to the constituency building while creating a new line-up of regional leaders in various fields who are willing to engage in the process of promotion of European integration.

Balkan Dialogues

Balkan Dialogues Academy

The Balkan Dialogues Academy represents a continuation of support for young leaders in the region, focusing on learning, improvement, and networking, with the aim of strengthening regional cooperation and establishing clearer goals related to common regional development. The Academy will bring together visionaries in politics and social engagement who are willing to contribute to the development of regional cooperation and the accession process of the Western Balkans to the European Union through dedicated and long-term work.

EU ETS

Western Balkans and EU ETS is a program aimed at facilitating the gradual integration of Western Balkan countries into the European Union in crucial areas, particularly energy supply and security. The program’s specific objective is to endorse and assist the accession of WB countries to the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS).

BFPE

The Foundation BFPE for a Responsible Society (BFPE) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2003, with the aim of contributing to the continuous development of policies and practices of responsible society, with a focus on the development of leadership and citizen participation in democratic processes. BFPE’s vision is a well developed Serbia, based on democratic values and principles, with responsible social and political elites working for the benefit of all citizens.
